Chemically Bonds to Substrate
Typical coatings rely on a mechanical bond for the coating to adhere to the substrate surface. The patented chemistry of NanoPrime makes a chemical bond that has greater adhesion and corrosion resistance. This is particularly advantageous for aluminum as it eliminates the need to etch the metal surface.
Easier Surface Preparation
No sandblasting is required to achieve surface profile or removal of light rust or oxidation. Pressure washing sufficiently removes excess rust and surface contaminants. This offers tremendous benefits pertaining to manhours, safety, and environmental concerns.
Converts Rust & Oxidation
NanoPrime’s patented chemistry converts rust into a more corrosion resistant compound called iron phosphate. Oxidation on aluminum surfaces are also converted into a phosphate compound that provides greater corrosion protection.
Humidity
As opposed to typical coatings that are sensitive to higher humidity, the water-based chemistry of NanoPrime allows the coating to be applied in higher humidity conditions.
Dampness
Because NanoPrime is water-based, the coating can be applied to damp surfaces reducing the project delays due to rain or waiting for surfaces to be completely dry.
Salt Air Issues
For offshore applications, concerns about light deposits of salt on surfaces are eliminated due to NanoPrime’s chemistry and compatibility with salt.
Environmentally Friendly
NanoPrime is water based and can be spilled into the water or grass without any concerns. If you’re offshore on a rig or platform and knock over a can of NanoPrime and it goes in the water, there would be no violation. If it is spilled in the grass, the phosphates in the coating will actually serve as fertilizer.
Non-Toxic
NanoPrime has ZERO volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Non-Flammable
NanoPrime can be stored and transported safely without special consideration.
